WHY WE EXIST
Our love for fresh, locally-sourced food, the city, and the community comes alive at FreshFins, and we want more people to experience it.
It’s 2020 and we know you can get the best of the world at your doorstep. It should be just as simple to get the best of fresh and local meat too. That is what we are here for.
The idea for Freshfins was born on a boat,while out fishing on the Bay of Bengal.Years of fishing with the best of our local fishermen gave us a deep understanding of the reality of the mainstream fishing and meat industry.
For instance, “fresh-off-the-boat” was such a misleading tactic used by many and the real concept of “freshness” seemed to be a myth!
But we got to know the good guys, the ones who respect the seas and its seasons, know where the fish bite and did things the right way.
We started helping their fish reach more homes and kitchens through a simple network built by word-of-mouth. Soon, fish from our boats were being demanded for barbeque parties and Sunday brunch do’s.
We’ve made it our mission to make fresh & local meat more accessible, using equal parts passion, process & platform. Everything we do is a cut above
Nothing fishy about how we bring you your fresh meat
All our fish meat is sourced locally and directly from our own fishermen and bountiful coastline. What we catch daily is what we deliver to you, which means no preservatives or harmful chemicals.
We don't chicken out from doing the right thing
Most poultry are raised in factory farms and pumped full of antibiotics to fight disease. At FreshFins, all our poultry are 100% humanely raised in a free-range environment, just like the good old days!
We define ‘FRESH’ as the catch that is cleaned, cut, chilled and delivered, no more than 24 to 48 hours from the time it’s pulled out of the seas. When we say fresh off the boat, we literally mean fresh from the sea!
FreshFins’ fishing trips are focused on our own coastline and The poultry we process is also from monitored free-range local farms. Our products come to you from within a 50km radius, which is the globally accepted norm for eating local.
The fresh meat we bring you is organic. We add no chemicals or artificial preservatives when we chill our fish. We don't allow antibiotics and growth hormones in our farms.
